The Northeast Kingdom Travel & Tourism Association (NEKTTA) has administered the regional marketing program for the Northeast Kingdom since the organization's inception in 1991. The organization provides marketing education, service, support and representation for 9 area Chambers of Commerce and over 180 area businesses. Today the organization serves to organize and coordinate the region in their collective efforts toward Destination Development.
Our Mission
NEKTTA strives to showcase Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom as a destination of choice for travelers. In doing so it is our mission to employ tourism to the benefit of our region by assisting in the development, marketing, and execution of experiential tourism products which will both honor and sustain that which, we as residents of the Northeast Kingdom, value most about our home. To aid us in our mission we employ the values and principles of agritourism, ecotourism and geotourism.

Regional Economic, Environmental and Cultural Sustainability
It is the belief of the Northeast Kingdom Travel and Tourism Association that the deliberate development of sustainable tourism will help to fill existing economic gaps to the benefit of many Northeast Kingdom residents, businesses and organizations.
We partner with 9 Chambers of Commerce and over 180 area businesses and organizations in our effort to enhance our tourism product and to sustain, enhance, and encourage business development and job creation through regional tourism growth.
Product Development
While some tourism organizations encourage the development of tourism products and experiences that are similar and/or identical to their key competitors it is the goal of the NEKTTA to encourage and assist in the development of tourism products and experiences which will help to sustain that which we find most dear about our home. We recognize that tourism assets found in other areas may not be appropriate in the Northeast Kingdom. It is our belief that what makes the Northeast Kingdom a wonderful place to live will also make it a wonderful place to visit.
As our partners place great value in our cultural history, working landscapes, pristine surroundings and intimate community origins, we work hard to encourage and assist in the development and marketing of products which both showcase and preserve these assets.
It is our goal to utilize our resources to help develop, market and sustain area environmental features, recreational assets, attractions, farms and cultural and artistic offerings which, in turn, support, honor, and incorporate the needs and offerings of their surrounding community in their efforts.
