NEK Geotourism Alliance
To ensure the development of a geotourism program that is true to the Kingdom, a Geotourism Alliance was
established to help steward the formation of this program. Today, this Alliance is comprised of over 20 member organizations
who provide input and support as the Northeast Kingdom Geotourism Program evolves. A Geotourism Working Group, made
up of individuals from several of the member organizations, takes care of day-to-day activities, including coordinating events,
materials, outreach programs, and the Geotourism MapGuide development. The NEK Geotouism Alliance members are listed below.

Connecticut River Byway:
The Connecticut River Byway Council promotes and encourages conservation of the unique historic, cultural, environmental, and agricultural traditions and resources found along the 500 miles of roads bordering the river in Vermont and New Hampshire which make up the Connecticut River Byway. |

Kingdom Trails Association:
Kingdom Trail Association, founded in 1994, is a not for profit multiple-use, non-motorized recreational trail organization with a well marked and maintained system known as a premier mountainbike and trailrunning destination in the U.S in the summer turning to a groomed and marked trail system for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. NorthWoods Stewardship Center:
Fostering long-term stewardship of human and natural communities in the Northern Forest region through scientific research, environmental education, and hands-on conservation work. |

Northeast Kingdom Collaborative:
The Northeast Kingdom Collaborative was formed in 1996 to find ways to collaborate on community and economic development issues in Caledonia, Essex and Orleans Counties, Vermont. |

Northeastern Vermont Development Association:
The Northeastern Vermont Development Association serves the people, municipalities and businesses as both the Regional Planning Commission and Regional Development Corporation throughout the three counties of the Northeast Kingdom. |

The Northern Forest Canoe Trail:
The Northern Forest Canoe Trail (NFCT) is an historic, 740-mile water trail across New York, Vermont, Québec, New Hampshire, and Maine, celebrating the rich human heritage and diverse natural environment of the Northern Forest. |

The Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont:
The Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont (NOFA-VT) is a non-profit organization of farmers, gardeners, and consumers working to promote an economically viable and ecologically sound Vermont food system for the benefit of current and future generations. |

Nulhegan Gateway Association:
The Nulhegan Gateway Association strives to coordinate community and economic development that will support the region's environmental stewardship and unique traditional character through education and advocacy activities. NGA is an equal opportunity provider and employer. |

Silvio O. Conte National Fish and Wildlife Refuge:
The Silvio O. Conte National Fish and Wildlife Refuge works with partners to acquire key habitat, to better manage already protected habitat, to provide conservation leadership, and educate the watershed citizens about important habitat issues which effect wildlife resources in the Connecticut River water shed |

University of Vermont Tourism Data Center:
The center offers numerous services to assist local communities, non-profit organizations, individuals, private sector businesses, and government agencies, including: a tourism research hotline, online tourism publications, links to online resources, one-on-one technical assistance, customized research, and community development services. |
