Winter enthusiasts will find dependable snow at
Jay Peak and
Burke Mountain, the region's two downhill resorts. There are five nordic centers in the Kingdom that machine-groom miles of tracks for classic and skate skiing -- and
snowshoers are always welcome.
Snowmobilers enjoy a connected network covering 3,100 miles on groomed trails. Trail maps are available for $3 at
VAST
Catamount Trail is North America's longest ski highway. It starts in Mass. and passes through the Kingdom to the Canadian border. It's open to backcountry skiers and snowshoeing.
