The Northeast Kingdom is a region rich in history and tradition, a unique quality which carries over into its educational facilities.
The St. Johnsbury Academy in St. Johnsbury, VT, is a nationally recognized independent boarding and day school for grades 9-12 and post-graduate. Lyndon Institute, located in the neighboring town of Lyndon Center, is a private co-educational day and boarding school for students in grades 9-12. Both schools boast an exceptionally long and respectable history, and together they have one of the oldest high school football rivalries in the country -- over 100 years! Visit Vermont's Northeast Kingdom in late October to see the game that draws a crowd from all over the Kingdom and beyond.
Lyndon State College, located in Lyndonville, VT, serves the area with a wide variety of degree programs. Well-respected for its meteorology, business and communications programs, the college is graced with a picturesque setting and a historical campus. Once the private residence of T.N. Vail, founder of AT&T, the campus overlooks the town and the mountains beyond.
