Our efforts are having a measurable impact. The Northeast Kingdom has the fastest growing regional tourism economy in Vermont, as measured by Rooms, Meals and Alcohol tax receipts, a key statistic for gauging the health of tourism business. In fact, the rate of growth for our region is more than double that of the rest of the state, due to in no small part to NEKTTA’s collaborative strategy. In 2006, NEKTTA launched its Marketing Partnership and Partnering Chamber programs. To date, over 130 businesses from the Kingdom have joined NEKTTA as Marketing Partners as well as nine of the ten registered chambers of commerce in Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties to promote the common cause of improving the tourism economy in the NEK.
