Head to the Craftsbury Outdoor Center this month for Olympic-style sculling and rowing. Beginner and expert athletes from across the country come to hone their skills on Lake Hosmer, and world-class instruction is available if you are just starting out or looking to improve your strength and practice. Dog Mountain, Stephen Huneck's playful monument to 4-legged companions, welcomes "all creeds and all breeds." A network of paths crisscross the rolling hills on the Huneck's 400-acre farm, graced with sculpture that evokes this artist's devotion to dogs of all sizes. He says, "It is a wonderful experience to go on a walk with your dog through an old forest, you will see how the dog becomes fully alert, your guide and protector."
